What in the heck is New England doing, or not doing? How does BB let so many wr's go by especially when they have a pressing need for one? It is going to be an interesting AFC East this up coming season.

The Patriots are rather confident that their 4 picks in the first 2 rounds, and 5 in the first 119 picks, will produce enough talented players, who can be had for cheaper (Marshall/Holmes are both only under contract for this year and have character issues that the Patriots wouldn't ignore).

Do I hate the fact that the rest of the division, sans the Bills, are getting better? Of course - but the off-season isn't even close to over yet, and the Patriots accomplished their most pressing need of re-signing Wilfork.

EDIT: Here are the two reasons ESPNBoston writer Mike Reiss gives: "Locker Room Chemistry" and "Economics" (the fact that the Pats would have to re-sign him to a deal around $8 million plus a year, which would be more than Moss and Welker receive)

Brian Hartline is the perfect #2 WR. He's got good size, speed, and hands. He lead the team in TD catches as a rookie. Honestly, if Marshall stays out of trouble, this group has got top 10 potential. Bess was an awesome slot receiver without a real #1 WR.

Big move for the Dolphins. I can not wait to see the AFC East games this year.

+1. I'll definitely have to invest in Sunday Ticket to see those games.

Good read, especially the comments (always a riot). I don't know Longhorn, I think that every other team in the AFC-E has gotten better (except the Bills), the Pats struggled in the division last year with the current team, against inferior comp. If the Pats are depending on draft picks to get better (this up coming season), that is one helluvah risk in my opinion.

Right now they have one receiver (moss) who may or may not show up from game to game. Additionally, a defense with little to no pass rush and inconsistent pass coverage. These two weaknesses both the Jets and Fins have made moves to take advantage of.

I think Marshall or Boldin would have went along way in stabilizing the wr core, this would have freed up some draft picks for other needs.

Re: Marshall to Dolphins

Milbut- the reason why i said that is you have to let your qb do his job . if there offense is more explosive and they have the ability to get the ball down the field. then using the wildcat in spots and use it as a part of the offense instead of the offense you become more dimensional. plus you can run more plays off of shifts from the wildcat to shotgun or whatever offensive formation.
