Some people are so stupid its mind blowing at times. Right or wrong you are facing a 4 game suspension. You're career is already in jeopardy and you make a scene on a plane?

No defending this.

Jets say Santonio failed to follow flight regulations

Posted by Michael David Smith on April 30, 2010 3:26 PM ET
It's still not completely clear what happened with New York Jets wide receiver Santonio Holmes at the Pittsburgh International Airport on Thursday night, but the team has confirmed that he failed to follow flight regulations.

The Associated Press reports that Jets spokesman Bruce Speight said Friday that the team was told Holmes was flying from Newark Liberty International Airport to Pittsburgh on Thursday night and that a report was filed with the Allegheny County Police Department after Holmes' flight landed.

However, contrary to a report on Friday morning that Holmes was removed from a plane at Pittsburgh International Airport for being a "disruptive passenger," KDKA in Pittsburgh is reporting that Allegheny County police are now saying Holmes was never removed.

The latest report says that after Holmes got off the plane, police officers reminded him of the importance of complying with flight regulations, but he was not charged.

Jets coach Rex Ryan said the disruption was created when Holmes refused to turn off his iPod when instructed to by the flight crew, and Ryan says he'll tell Holmes to start complying with such requests.

Holmes was reportedly flying to Las Vegas this afternoon.
this guy is really asking for it

This guy has to be one of the most stupid athletes around. I shudder to think what kind of trouble he'll get himself into living in NYC during the football season.

He will be fine in NYC unless he shoot himself in the leg. He can walk around NYC and no one will care or even pay attention.

Oh well Jets fans,..it is gonna be an interesting season with Mr. Holmes on the roster.
That is If he can stay out of trouble before his 4 game suspension is even up, not that he'll be suspended for the entire season or anything. He'd have to do something pretty stupid to have that happen but, like the saying goes "you never know".

And that is a LONG time of not getting into any till that 4 game suspention is over.

From what I heard, if he fails or skips another drug test, it's an automatic year long suspension. He's skipped or failed 2 already...3rd time and it's a year. I think he skipped both of them because he knew he was coming up positive for weed. It doesn't seem like he can stay away from the stuff long enough to pass all the tests the NFL administers.

Allegheny Police: Early Holmes Story Untrue

Friday morning reports on a Pittsburgh TV station Website and other Internet outlets regarding an airline incident allegedly involving Jets wide receiver Santonio Holmes on Thursday night are not true, according to the Allegheny County, Pa., Police Department.

"As previously reported, [Santonio] Holmes was NOT removed from any airplane (4/29/2010)," a media release from the police department read. "He was asked to remove his Ipod (at one point), in which he complied. There's no further information to report."

Jets head coach Rex Ryan was asked about the reports (some of which were corrected this afternoon) at his midday news conference in between rookie minicamp practices.

"I know what's been told to me. It kind of got blown out of proportion by some media outlets," Ryan said. "I don't think it's as big as what's been out there."

Pressed on if he was concerned about what the reports might say about Holmes, the coach said, "The version I got is much different than the version you got or what's on the Internet. To comment on that is probably not right."

Ryan also praised Holmes, who came over in a trade with the Pittsburgh Steelers on April 12, for his work as a Jet.

"Santonio around here has been tremendous, at the voluntary workouts, competitive-wise in all the drills," he said. "The thing that really jumps out at me is how he's been in the classroom, with Mark Sanchez, Brian Schottenheimer. He takes great notes. He's been tremendous in the building."
