I think Dwyer may be the steal of the draft too.

Hey wayne, is your avatar a shot of the sun setting on the Steelers franchise?

I disagree with this. I said in the Mendenhall draft that I thought they got a steal and if he continues to produce like he did after the benching last season I don't think I was wrong there.

That said I got to see Dwyer play live last season along with the half a dozen or so Ga. Tech games I caught pieces of here and there. I really honestly don't see it. When Tech played Ms State this season I don't even think Dwyer was the best back on the field. I just don't think he has that it that is going to propel him to being a full time starter for a team with a legitimate running game. I don't see that little bit of wiggle from him that a lot of the traditional power backs have had that allow them to slip through some holes and always fall forward. I wouldn't be surprised to see him possibly converted to FB in the future, but again who knows at this point until we see him on Sunday.

I'm pulling for him. I wanna get a jersey if he sees meaningful snaps.
I dunno. I think a lot of people are getting a little too high on Dwyer a little too early. He's likely to get some carries, but there's no way he splits carries with Rush-Hard Mendenhall. Mendenhall will be the feature back this season, and I have little doubt about that. They may give Dwyer some touches here and there, especially in short-yardage situations, but we can't forget that this backfield isn't entirely thin. Mewelde Moore has proven himself to be a serviceable third down back who can spell the starter if necessary. Plus, they've got Carey Davis and Frank Summers at full back, and both have lined up at tailback (Davis has some regular season experience there from two years ago when Willie, Rush-Hard and Mewelde all went down) and Summers lined up there every once in a while in camp... he was hurt this past season).

My hopes aren't quite as high as everyone else's to start the season, but I do LOVE the pick.
