While rookie WR are not putting up 1000 yard seasons I do feel like recently that as a group they have been much more productive. I havent looked it up but it just feels that way. Anyone else agree.

Last year the leading rookie receiver had 60 receptions. Leader in yardage was 793. Leader in TD's was 7.

I think it's becoming harder for them to really put up big numbers. I think there are some who contribute right away, but not put up the numbers generally required to win ROY. Especially since, and this was my original point, RB's can generally step right in and play since it's a much more instinctual position.

Defense, I'll go homer and say McClain.

Offense, not sure. Ryan Matthews is a good choice. C.J. Spiller has a chance since he's a legit return specialist who can tote the rock too.

Jonathan Dwyer RB Pittsburgh Steelers, This is a fanboy pick with no reason or logic just a hunch. I see something in this kid, he was selected by the right team and he has something to prove to all those teams that by passed him. I had the same hunch about Willie Parker and Kendrell Bell they just pass the eye test.

This is my fanboy pick, discredit it at your peril.

Is he going to get the ball enough to win the award? A guy like Matthews is the guy. He's going to be the go to go, in Pittsburgh with Mendenhall there, how many touches is Dwyer going to get?

The problem with Mendenhall is ball security. He is a good back and at times he has flashes of brilliance, but most of the time he drops like a sack of potatoes when he makes contact. Maybe that's the residual affect from the bruising tackle he took from Ray Lew in his rookie year. If he doesn't clean up that problem, I can see him sitting for long periods of time. Limas Sweed had the dropsies and Mike Wallace stepped right in and produce.

Limas Sweed never produced though. Mendenhall is coming off a pretty productive year. I doubt Dwyer gets the touches needed to win the award, unless Mendenhall gets hurt.
