I like this. I'm tired of it being played in the same places. If GB and Miami plays in a SB and Green Bay wins then Green Bay is the better team. In New York or in San Diego.

The Ice Bowl was not a pre SB era game. Dec. 31 1967. You may think of it as pre SB era because the hype for Super Bowls didn't start until Super Bowl III and the NFC Championship game was considered the game that decided the best team.

I am undecided on this, on one hand I love watching snow games, but on the same hand I don't know if I want the Super Bowl decided by weather. We're all thinking the problem of snow, but imagine conditions like the Bears/Eagles Fog Bowl from the late 80's.

Ditto. The game is decided on the field by the two teams. The best team wins. Its not decided by the weather. If that was the case, then they shouldn't even kick off.

How did the fog decide that game?

You really think a championship game is best decided in conditions where the players can't see 5 yards down the field? I honestly don't even remember who won off the top of my head, but as cool as the fog was that game was atrocious to watch.

I don't recall saying anything regarding what the best conditions are. I just don't see how the weather decided the outcome.

It really wouldn't make a whole lot of sense to add two regular season games but delay the start of preseason two weeks.
Why not? NFL is not going start there season before labor day !! Plus with two less presesaon game you need extra time in training camp with the probable expanding roster that would go along with 18 game season..
