Greatest QB/RB/WR combos?

Here are the best that I have seen, imo:

1. Aikman/Smith/Irvin
2. Warner/Faulk/Bruce (or Holt), probably my favorite to watch
3. Manning/James/Harrison
4. Young/Watters/Rice
5. Elway/Davis/Smith
6. Kelly/Thomas/Reed
7. Rivers/Tomlinson/Gates
8. McNair/George/Mason
9. Favre/Peterson/Rice
10. McNabb/Westbrook/Owens

Re: Greatest QB/RB/WR combos?

since the dolphins never had a running game i am going with marino/duper/clayton
that combo was deadly when dan marino came into the league his second year was beautiful to see i remember how he torched the steelers in the playoffs and the steelers were in shock n awe they even commented on both super bowl teams because they played them both and said that miami impressed them more.

Re: Greatest QB/RB/WR combos?

Rocky I think you underrate the Kelly/Thomas/Reed combo a bit i'd slot them up to #4 and slide down the Young/Watters/Rice combo. I know Young and Rice were electric but I don't think Watters was nearly as integral and key to the offense the way Thomas was for the Bills.

The Cowboys triplets did produce championships but I think you overrate them just a tad. I'm not saying they weren't great but they were cogs in the machine. They weren't too flashy (well ok, Irvin was flashy) but they got the job done. When I think of great triplets I put flair and dependence on their performance together into the equation.

I agree with BK on the Chargers combo. They were the lifeblood of the offense but also Air Coryell was a spread the ball all over type of offense in that even the little guys had big days/moments but it always came down to Fouts/Muncie/Winslow/Joiner/Chandler and believe it or not it could've been more explosive if they never traded John Jefferson away. Personally i'd have Jefferson over Chandler as he added an element of raw speed and athleticism that I don't think Chandler fully had.

Chandler was actually faster than Jefferson. Jefferson was more athletic, but Chandler was faster and actually better after the catch.

3 of the guys I mentioned are HOF'ers.
