I think points is the measuring stick these days. In fact the recent Ravens have pretty much gameplanned around allowing yards between the 20's and kicking it up in the red zone. Total yards allowed could be misleading.

I think a 10 year span would show more validity... but those are definitely more spread out than I expected even over a 5 year span. Nice work (or it seems "work" is exactly what you're not doing today, lol).

yeah, i'll finish this up when i get home from the office. i was thinking ten eyars, but wanted to at least post the 5 year stuff to give guys some food for thought.

i've updated the post to reflect the past decade of nfl football. i won't lie, i didn't expect the numbers to come out like they did, but my belief that it wasn't as clear-cut for the defense holds true.

on both sides of the ball, nine teams have finished in the top ten five or more years.

I know for Offense, the Packers have been one of the best teams at that going back to the Holmgren Years and it also helps that they've basically been running the same Offense(save for a few minor changes)for almost 2 decades now.
