I don't think the Jets would have a problem with an extra 2 million considering they offered him a contract 70+ million more than his current contract.

Revis wants to be paid higher than Impossible to Spell Oakland CB.

While he may have a point that ItSOCB is paid higher, the minute a franchise starts paying players based off of what Oakland does is the minute they start getting the performance from players that Oakland does.

Revis signed a 6-yr $30MM rookie contract w/$11MM in guarentees. What in heaven's name is wrong with that...He was a 14th pick at that. I have no empathy for Revis, especially for signing such a long contract.

Really makes mad when players do this. You had a great season and you're getting paid more than most of us here will make in a lifetime. Go and play the game you enjoy and perform to your best. Once your contract is over you are supposed to obey, then you can ask for more money because $30 million is not enough for you somehow.

This could really hurt Revis more then the jets in long run. If revis sets out for a year then he will loss his teammates respect and plus he will loss game form when he comes back. 15 million a year sounds good to me. Revis and his agent is some what trying to be greedy. But again Revis will be the one hurting at the end of all this if he holds out for a season.

Exactly, he could have signed for 2-3 years with $4-6 million guaranteed and he could be free to sign however large a contract he wanted. He gambled and he lost. If he got hurt, he would still have the $11 million.

Re: Jets owner doesn't think Darrelle Revis will play this year

WTF? When have you ever seen an NFL team give out 2-3 year contracts to top picks?! Revis and his agent wanted 4yrs but the Jets would only go 6yrs. So they decided on a clause where if Revis took 35% of the snaps his rookie year, the final two years would be voided after the 4th year....Or something along those lines.

Point being no NFL team is giving supreme talent a small amount of years. You don't think the agents would have figured that out by now?! Come on fellas...Come on.
