Week 1: Packers @ Eagles

Been waiting for this day since the Schedules were released and now the Countdown to Sunday officially begins.

The Kevin Kolb Era will officially begin in Philly and there's no better player to go against than Packers QB Aaron Rodgers, who is rising among the top NFL QBs.

This will also be Year 2 of the 3-4 Scheme for the Packers, who finished 2nd in the league in Defense but still have some questions on that side of the ball, especially in the Secondary. Offensively, everything is still the same for them and hopefully our O-Line can transfer last season's 2nd Half performance to this year.

I'll wait til Friday before I go ahead and make my official prediction for this game.

I wish both teams could lose but since that won't happen I just hope that whover wins wins it in the ugliest way possible.

I really don't see this being that close but certainly high scoring. I expect Kolb to have atleast 45+ attempts in this one. Rodgers and Kolb may combine for over 700 yards passing.

Prediction: Packers 52-27

Re: Week 1: Packers @ Eagles

I'm going with the Pack. Too transitional for the Eagles to beat a solid defense like that in their first game, I think. Unless Kolb comes out and is really, really, good, which I don't think he will be. I could see him have a bad start, and then putting up a bunch of yardage when the game starts to get out of reach.

I'll take the somewhat more proven commodity in the Packers here. Facing 3-4 blitz schemes as a green QB is really difficult, more often than not, they struggle mightily. Don't seem to realize that they're not going to have as much time to complete a deep throw.

Re: Week 1: Packers @ Eagles

I already know what the offense can do, and I'm not worried about them. At all. I've been alive since 1989 and this may end up being the best offense I've ever seen the Packers have. Mid-90's Super Bowl years included.

Really curious to see what the defense will do in their first game since the Arizona debacle. Philly's got fast weapons with Jackson, Maclin, and McCoy. I worry they could out-speed us. Ultimately, though, I'm thinking we'll be fine. Give up some yards, but make up for it with turnovers. That's kind of how the D operates.

I'll take the Packers (not because I'm a homer, I think they're better).
