Re: Clay F'n Matthews!

Funny how the steeler fan is saying polamalu and the packers fan is saying matthews. Right now its matthews he's got the sacks, no disrespect to polamalu. I want to see what matthews does tho the rest of the season cause let's be honest the Eagles/Bills o-line isn't exactly top notch.

And for people who are only going to say he's doing this against weak O-Lines, you'd have a point if he wasn't having this same type of success last season, when he was actually. Just an FYI

Yep way too early to say, but if I had to say right now I'd say Clay. It's pointless though right now. I mean right now Foster is leading the league in rushing yards, I doubt that will remain throughout the season (although I sure hope it does) Both Matthews and Troy have been great though.

Re: Clay F'n Matthews!

When it comes to role and importance, Polamalu trumps most defensive players in the NFL. As a safety he makes our run D infinitely better, and he makes our pass D infinitely better. Playing all over the field, blitzing the QB or the run, coverage. It's crazy watching where he starts each snap and where he ends up on the field by the end of that play.

Granted, it's not the defensive MVP, but the DPOTY award, so you need stats. But I think Troy is going to have a big statistical season, to go along with his defensive MVP-like status. Just look at our defense last year compared to with him on the field. They go from good defense, to elite defense.

Re: Clay F'n Matthews!

He's basically doing what Charles Woodson did last year(minus shutting down the opposing team's Top WR)which if he does continue, then he should win it.

Re: Clay F'n Matthews!

Okay, I know it was against the crappy Bills O-Line but what I saw of Mathews yesterday was scary good. That guy has a motor that won't quit and he's got the speed and power to get to the QB. If he can continue that type of play he's easily the DPOY.

You kinda knew he had this in him knowing the pedigree he comes from.

If Mario Williams keeps going, he'll be in the discussion too.

Mario is definitely on some type of mission this year. But unfortunately for him the numbers for his defense has to look better I think. I'd be happy with an All-Pro selection though.
