At least Browns fans have an excuse for pessimism. Shattered hopes for Cleveland sports go year round.

Not saying I know people who dismiss McCoy.

New Update:

Quote:
Conflicting reports emerge regarding possible Kolb trade

Posted by Mike Florio on September 22, 2010 5:12 PM ET
Earlier today, Anthony Gargano of WIP radio in Philly reported that the Browns called last night to inquire about a possible trade for Eagles backup quarterback Kevin Kolb.

Sal Paolantonio of ESPN reports that several teams have called, hinting that Cleveland could be an eventual destination.

But now contrary reports have emerged, both from Jeff McLane of the Philadelphia Inquirer and Tony Grossi of the Cleveland Plain Dealer.

To the extent that any of those reports are originating with the Eagles, we don't believe them. How could we? Given the team's recent history of strategic prevarication (even Steve Young had to look that one up), it's clear that they say whatever they have to say to suit whatever interests they're trying to advance.

And the inconsistencies keep coming. On Wednesday, coach Andy Reid declined to say that Kolb definitively would not be traded. Then, Reid said that he wouldn't listen to trade offers for Kolb.

None of it matters. Reid has proven that he talks to the media because he has to talk to the media, and that nothing he says to the media ever can be fully believed -- not after Reid told us all in January that Donovan McNabb would be the starting quarterback in 2010, and then Reid told us all on Sunday that Kolb would be the starting quarterback against the Jaguars.

Re: Report: Browns called Eagles about Kolb last night

Im not counting out McCoy and I don't think the Browns will either. I have no problem with him sitting for a year or even two years.

In the Pre-season he was 28-39 for 232. Granted a lot of the passes were check downs. But like someone else said he literally had 2-3seconds, if that, to throw. The 2nd and 3rd string line he was playing behind is pathetic.

So I just don't see how anyone could say he sucks, or won't amount to anything at this point.

I'm sorry who is discrediting him?

All along the plan for him was to sit the bench for at least this first season, and realistically he might need a couple years before hes ready to be a starter.

Give me a break.

I am.

I don't think he'll ever be anything in the NFL.
