Re: Week 6 Lions @ Giants

Giants needed not to lose this game more then blow out the Lions. I came away convinced that the Lions will be a playoff contending team for years to come very soon.

Solid defense and a good coach....

4-2 @ Dallas next week for MNF

Good effort Lions with the 3rd string QB though.
I knew it was over for us when Hill left. We couldn't run the ball either. The bye week could not be here any sooner.

Re: Week 6 Lions @ Giants

I watched this game and I have to say I was impressed by the Lions from the standpoint that they never gave up in this game. Despite having NO run game and being down to the 3rd string QB they were still able to keep themselves in the game til the very end. They really need to clean up on the penalties but aside from that I really think this team is on the right track.

Re: Week 6 Lions @ Giants

We won the game. Other than that 80+ yard reception by Calvin (smh at antrell rolle and Kevin Thomas), the defense was stellar. We abused their running game and forced them to throw, which they did well. Our offense has to keep the foot on the pedal the entire game though. Its gonna catch up to us when we play a high powered offense and we just stop scoring (colts and titans games).

And where did Hakeem Nicks go? Is Alfonso Smith really that good?
Giants Cowboys next week. We better show up to play those boys.

Josh McDaniels didn't seem to think so.

That was the one part of Jeff Fisher's teams that I hoped Schwartz would not take after. And you're right, these penalties are drive killers.

Schwartz is a very good coach. Lions will be in the playoffs next year.

Not sure where all the optimism is coming from, but it seems to always be from fans of the opposing team, after they beat the Lions...

We're 1-5. This is the same record through 6 games as last year. I've seen this "year away" stuff before in Detroit. I seriously doubt they will be a playoff team next year, as they are still only at the "competitive on a weekly basis" stage, and there's a big difference between that and winning the requisite 9-10 games needed (minimum) to make the playoffs. I'd be happy to be wrong, but the track record of the Lions one that does not instill me with a tremendous amount of hope...
