They very easily could have blown the whistle when it was clear his forward progress was stopped before players start piling on and he was lifted up by defensive players. I mean, it is pretty obvious what they were trying to do.

??????? Two Ravens began to tackle him before IMMEDIATELY two Bills players pushed him forward. Then a third Bills player comes and rams the pile forward even more. The Bills were the main culprit for the fumble. The player never was at a standstill and the Ravens played to the whistle. Good call by the refs and some dumb decisions on the Bill's part.

not trying to rub salt but the defender lifted his leg to throw him down backward, then the olinesman behind him kept him up and tried to push him forward. He never stopped going forward.

Nope, you can see at 12:59 and 12:58 that he's stopped, clear as day.

Exactly. The reason the player was in the air was because he was sandwiched between two Ravens trying to make a tackle and two Bills trying to push him forward. It was not a deliberate play on the Ravens part to life him up as the poster Muggin's is implying (I don't know anything deliberate could be concocted amongst multiple defenders in a 2 second tackle). The Ravens were just trying to knock him back. Finally, a third Bill's player comes and knocked the pile forward even more.

He began getting tackled at 12:59. Why would the ref's stop a play when a player is getting tackled? Right after he was hit by two of his own players and began going foward again. Finally a Bill's player hits him a third time.
