Re: Yearly Awards, Who's In The Lead?

Welker is a good story, but he's not even on pace really to break his stats from last year.

I don't see Barry even close to Suh for DPOY. Depending on how their teams finish, Haley, Cable, Morris all up for COTY.

Too bad McCluster never really got going before getting hurt.

Clay Matthews is a lock for DROY award in my opinion. As for the rest of them I think there still up for grabs.

It was expected to have a much bigger effect on him than it did, I can't think of anyone else coming off of injury whose playing that well either.

Re: Yearly Awards, Who's In The Lead?

MVP - Peyton Manning - I don't see how it can't be. He has a monopoly on this award, because the Colts are a one dimensional team and he's an incredible QB. They always go exactly as he goes, every season. If he doesn't do what he does, they lose. Period.

OPOY - Roddy White - Yes, I'm throwing a curveball here. I feel Roddy White defines the award. He's been a number 1 receiver in every sense of the word this season. He's taken over the Falcons passing offense. The stats are elite. I'd go Phillip Rivers if I held much stock in passing yards. I do not. You can play terrible and still throw for 400 yards in a game.

DPOY - Osi Umenyora. Not just for the stats, but for what isn't in the stats, and that's the Giants defense as a whole. He's made that line devastating again. The competition has been weak for his team, but still.

OROY - Sam Bradford, see no way he doesn't win this.

DROY - Suh - Glad he's living up to the hype.

Comeback Player - Michael Vick - Last year was NOT his comeback year.

Semi long distance bump, but...

Does Joe Haden have any shot at all of knocking Suh out of the DROY? Haden has 4 picks in his last 4 games and is having a huge impact on the defense.
