How does Vick not have a chance to win MVP?

Re: Yearly Awards, Who's In The Lead?

When he had his ridiculous game against Washington and people suddenly thought he should be MVP, he had only taken like 58% of his team's snaps for the entire season.

He won't overtake Tom Brady in most statistical categories, he's not much more than a sexy headline for the MVP race. A QB isn't going to miss 3 games and get the MVP.

+1 what i've been thinking ever since Vick's name appeared in the MVP race

Re: Yearly Awards, Who's In The Lead?

Currently Brady has 2703 passing and roughly 20 yards rushing with 24 total TDs and 105.8 QB rating.

Currently VIck has 2243 yards passing with 467 yards rushing and 21 total TDs with a 105.7 QB rating.

So Tom with 3 more games played ( and soon to be 4) has roughly the same yardage and QB rating and is head and shoulders above Vick????

Interesting

QB Rating is a near pointless stat. I wish people would stop using it.

k lets pick some other stats.

yards per attempt
Vick 8.37
Brady 7.59

percentage (though this is useless too : see David Carr )
Brady 66.3
Vick 63.8

Yards per game passing only (another useless stat but heh why not)
Vick 249
Brady 246

My point is, Vick is not that far away from Brady

I know. I wasn't disagreeing with you. I picked Vick for MVP right now as well, but I was just saying I hate the QB Rating stat.
