Campbell didn't want to backup McNabb though.

I meant not even get McNabb from the get go and just rebuild w/ Campbell for the time being. Hindsight is 20/20 I know, but considering that it's obvious the Shanahans didn't want McNabb from the get go, that would have been the better option.

JC would have probably got himself killed behind this offensive line. He's taken a beating in Oakland but at least he has some semblance of a running game there with McFadden & Bush.

I agree with this point. But Shanahan has shown that he doesn't give a **** about guys if they aren't "his" guys. I fully support the benching based on performance or lack there of, no one should be promised a starting job on a 5-8 team. But honestly to demote him to 3rd string QB. Terrible way to handle an established veteran especially at the QB spot. Lets say that in the 1st quarter Sexy Rexy goes down. Between Beck and McNabb who give the team the better option to win that game? (Not that it is gonna be a winnable game at this point in the season.) You don't treat your veteran like that. McNabb isn't a Haynesworth as far as I can tell McNabb hasn't been rocking the boat too much, and as much as I would love to hear him light up Kyle Shanahan on his Tuesday radio show, he won't. He is a class act. If this is his only season in Washington I wish him nothing but the best.

When he was in Washington I was a Campbell homer, see any of my post related to his time in Washington. Do I think this is still a 5-8 team if he was the starter? Probably, but the thing that Campbell did well last year behind the line was scramble. He was a big, strong kid, who had at the very least earned the respect of 95% of his teammates (Portis I'm looking at you ). When he left they didn't have a bad thing to say about him and he was voted Captain two years in a row. I don't know what QB is going to succed in this system right now. The pass protection schemes are laughable, and the weapons are a bigger joke at this point. I like Anthony Armstrong, but you can tell that he is fatigued and his play has slipped. Santana Moss (I hear this on the radio and agree) at this point is his career is a slot receiver on a good team, not a #1 anymore. Roydell Williams, Brandon Banks, Terrance Austin are the WR. That is a bad joke. Banks is a special player as a returner but seriously 5'7" 150 lbs. Sorry but players like that only flourish in New England and this ain't New England. No matter who the QB is for this team currently you are paddling uphill in a sinking ship.

Shanahan is saying that he is auditioning QB's the last 3 weeks. Who the hell are they throwing the ball too. Honestly I wonder if Keenan Mcardle looks at his WR and thinks he could still play in the league. It would be totally unfair to judge the performance of any QB with these WR and this offensive line and protection scheme.

I'm a true blue skins fan so I will watch as much of these last three games as I can stomach, but I tell you what. I am very thankful for the RedZone channel at this point in the season. I have honestly been offered free club level seats to the last few home games including Tampa Bay and passed on them because I don't even want to waste my money on concessions. I can't support this debacle of a season. Once again, everyone is laughing at the Redskins. It's one thing to be this bad and be a joke locally it's a whole different situation when the Raiders and their fans can laugh at you.

Re: Benching McNabb

You guys drafting a QB? For some reason I just don't see them drafting one with their first. I see them cutting McNabb an starting Rex next season while drafting a QB later.

I agree Rich. But it will be interesting to see if say Cam Newton is there when the skins are drafting. If Dan Snyder has really given up control of personel then they trade down or take a need position. If he hasn't they make a "splash" and take him.

Re: Benching McNabb

You know, maybe Albert Haynesworth isnt all that crazy afterall.

It has to be said though, that Mcnabb ends up in some real odd situations an awful lot, for a guy who has been a top flight QB for most of his career
