Well, he certainly won't be coming to Jacksonville. Far too expensive.

I wouldn't pay qb money for a top tier corner. Most teams run multiple wr sets and you can scheme away from a dominant cb. Now, if a dominant FS was on the market that is a whole other story.

Re: Nnamdi Asomugha is a free agent!

I know the Jets had that whole Revis/Asomugah idea, but signing him just seems like overkill. They already have three name corners.

Asomugah is such a perfect fit for the Steelers. He's a class guy, he could play on the other side of Ike Taylor, he'd have so many pick opportunities playing in our defense. If we had a decent second CB, he would average 4-5 picks a year with all the balls they get their way due to Ike Taylor locking down the other side. Troy/Asomugah in the secondary is pretty terrifying to opposing QB's. Having to make that split second decision of taking a sack or putting it up with Asomugah/Troy out there roaming is pretty tough.

This thread should just be called "Make a case why your team should have Asomugah" because like I said earlier, every team in the NFL needs him.

C'mon Ford, throw the bank at him! We already played our way out of PP7 and Amukamara, and we need a #1 corner bad. If we solve that issue, then we could possibly go anywhere with our first round pick, and can take talent rather than having to fill a huge hole. Our defensive line has improved drastically, and with a shutdown corner, we'd have a dominant defense (wow I never thought I'd say that).

It would be the other way around. QBs just don't throw at Nnamdi, he scares just about every QB. Ike Taylor would greatly benefit from having Nnamdi on the other side guarding the other teams best WRs.

Don't rule out him staying in Oakland.
