Of course you'd want to play, and I can't say I fault him terribly for saying so, but the point is that waiting has proven to work for a number of QB's who were less raw than Kolb is right now. Besides, I don't think the Vick experiment is going to last that much longer anyway. QB's on the bench start kicking and screaming, they get their wish, then leave and wind up sucking and their career is finished. It's happened a number of times. He's in a better spot right now than he realizes.

If the Eagles want even ONE 1st round pick I wouldn't do the deal if I'm Buffalo. Buffalo needs that 1st round pick, no matter how positive I am that they'll blow it on another Mike Williams.

Kolb isn't worth the first overall pick. That would be dumb by carolina. Kolb has done nothing to show that he is worth a pick higher than he himself was drafted. Are we suppose to take the eagles word that he is worth two first rounders hahaha they aren't the patriots front office.

Unfortunately, it seems like the Panthers front office is more concerned with saving money, which trading the #1 pick will do, than bettering the team so I can definitely see them checking this out with the Eagles

No way the panther give that pick away for only Kolb. They better get the rest of that team along with it.

Not that I agree, the first pick is given such high value that the panthers just couldn't make the move unless they got Kolb, the eagles first secon and possibly their next first along with it.

What's wrong with him asking to be traded?

Re: Report: Kolb wants out if he's backup next season

Kolb wanting to be a starter somewhere probably has NOTHING to do with a simple love of the game. A player can't develop as well if they're constantly on the sidelines. They aren't viewed as having the same value in contract negotiations when they lack experience. Kolb might not be as good a QB as Vick, but he's good enough to be a starter for some teams out there. But regardless of his ability, he'll never get the same respect down the road at the negotiating table if he approaches as a backup with minimal starting experience, as he would with a couple seasons of starting experience. I don't blame him for wanting to go somewhere he can start. It's a good business decision.
