Accurate passers that throw touchdowns while not throwing interceptions get high QB ratings. Aren't those things you want your quarterback to do on a regular basis? It's just another way of quantifying performance. It's not the end-all argument, but to dismiss it as meaningless in the modern game is just as foolish as putting all one's stock in it.
Exactly. My only problem with it is that it can be skewed, but overall it's a good measure of how the QB performed.
