Re: Official CBA Thread

I think there will be a lockout, but it will be over in a matter of weeks, not months. I can see both sides digging in, but they won't risk losing all or part of next season.

Re: Official CBA Thread

I just can't fathom them not getting a deal done. They will lose a TON of money if there were a lockout.

Re: Official CBA Thread

I foresee a lockout, but everything gets fixed in time for the season to start on time. The NFL can't afford to lose a season, not the owners nor the players, it's damaging to the sport and their brand.

An extended lockout opens the door for the UFL, CFL and any other potential football league to rapidly grow in popularity and if they wanted size. There are plenty of rich business owners who are crazy enough to throw boatloads of cash down to start franchises and pay NFL talent.

I think a deal will get done. Too much money to lose.

I'm optimistic and think a deal gets done next month, disaster evaded.

Am I the only one that would embrace an 18 game schedule? I hear all the complaints but those always come when you deal with any kind of change. And these guys get paid enough to have two more weeks of work added to their "work load".

And hey, if no pro football next year, college football will have all the spotlight and hopefully the BCS system show's its ugly flaws in full effect while the whole football world is watching.

Maybe I'm wrong, but I would think most people who watch NFL football also watch college ball.

Yeah the NFL lockout won't have any serious impact on people who watch CFB, maybe just a few people here and there that weren't really interested might watch some for the hell of it
