Re: Official CBA Thread

How many running backs get giant rookie contracts anyway? Maybe one running back every few years might get the short end of the stick, but in the long run it's just not really a significant concern.

Re: Official CBA Thread

I read somewhere that the NFLPA has released a report showing injuries have gone up by 15% this past season. This is a clear sign that the PA is pushing for some kind of medical coverage/plan that would benefit the players in the longer run.

Re: Official CBA Thread

Why is it so hard for the NFL and the NFLPA to sit down and start figuring this out. I want a rookie wage scale and the NFL to stay at 16 games. We saw a lot of injuries this past year. Asking for 18 games is just greedy by the owners.

Re: Official CBA Thread

It might not be the smartest career decision to be a running back, but next to QB it's the most "glorious" position since entire plays rely on you, unlike receivers where they can be the primary target but the ball could still go to another receiver, tight end or running back. So no, I don't think kids will suddenly stop wanting to play running back.

About Cromartie, did anyone see the short-lived Twitter beef between him and Hasselbeck? It was hilarious. Cromartie told him "I will smash ur face in" and Hasselbeck backed down.

BTW N51_rob, I think Cromartie has 8 or 9 kids.

yea i saw that there was alot more acl injuries this year, along with 2% increase in concussions. but the concussion I knew would rise with the increased awareness.

I don't know fellas I think the owners are gonna hold out til after the draft. I think that's the format they wanna run with. Draft then free agency. I think the rookie wage will be a done, deal but where should that money be reallocated to the Vets or back in the budget.

i think if players want medical after the retire they need to pay into it while they are playing. if you are making millions its stupid to not save for your future.

and guys like hines ward who want to play through whatever injuries should sign waivers to do so. the doctors want you to sit but you wanna be a tough guy why should the nfl be responsible for errors you made in your youth.

i would like a rookie wage cap, where a guy makes money on his second deal.

and about the 18 games, my grandfather tells me he remembers the same arguments when they wanted 16 games and the time before that.

I agree with this, you'd think something like this would be universally backed by the players but i've heard some veterans say they have no problem with the system as it is now which is just mind boggling.
