Re: The end of the Peyton Manning Era?

Detroit's FO ever since Millen got the boot has been one of the better ones in the league. Unless you haven't been paying attention the past two years, we have gotten like 7 or 8 starters from those two drafts alone, plus all of the trades/FA pickups we've made.

It's hard to compare them to the Colts since one is trying to win now and the other is all about building talent.

It's hard to predict the future, all I can say about the Colts is that they will continue to have a lot of mediocre to bad draft picks with Manning there, and depending on the supporting cast that Manning makes really good, that will dictate how far they can get any given year.

I can't believe you've put the Lions in the same list as the Redskins... I would even take the Cowboys out of there. The talent on that team is incredible.

Redskins and Colts draft and sign guys for the present, not for the future. Although the Redskins do such a bad job of it.
I understand the team is being built from the ground up but that still doesn't erase the mistakes that were there before last year or the year before. I mentioned those teams because they were known for having not so very good Draft Classes for a while.

And don't even get me started on the Cowboys and that "talent" part either LOL.

Wonderful assessment and I agree. This year proved that Manning needs a good supporting cast...WRs, most importantly a GOOD running game and even an average defense.

It's hard though...especially when I got my neighbor playing their franchise across the street...maybe I will occupy myself with Glamore Magazine.

Drafted Curtis Painter, a cheap player who can sit behind Peyton and learn from him.
Nothing against you, but I'd rather have the punter than Painter.

Painter is terrible, but that wasn't really the point.

Peyton gets to one more SB. Depending on how he gets there determines if he wins. If the Colts dominate their way there they win, if they get there by Peyton clawing and scratching with pure will then they don't win.
