What's this hypothetical player worth?

What draft value would you put on a running back who can always, but only, pick up 1 yard on a running play? He has zero risk of fumbling, but has absolutely no other use whatsoever.

So in other words, every 2nd & 3, 3rd & 2 and 4th & 1 is a guaranteed 1st down.

What do you guys think? I reckon such a player is worth an early 1st round, if not 1st overall pick, but pretty much everyone I know disagrees!

What a completely useless discussion.

The least you could do is insult the thread after your thread topic related opinion...jeez.

I'd take him first overall. That can turn into a lot of first downs and sustained drives.

That is my thread topic related opinion. It's a pointless argument because even if the player is hypothetical, it doesn't make any sense. An actual hypothetical would be a running back who has a huge tendency to fumble (say one fumble every 20 carries) but is the greatest of all time at making people miss and can get positive yards out of almost any situation.

I'm in the 'it makes no sense' boat. Short yardage conversions are 90% O-Line winning the battle.

And remember, 82% of statistics are made up.

74% not 82%.
