Hey I never said what I meant by special so hah. I have the same concerns about the rush D but I'm an optimistic person so the way I see it I believe the addition of guys like Cam Jordan, Shaun Rogers, Martez Wilson, and Casillas being healthy(was gonna start at OLB last year but got hurt) andI believe that improves our biggest problem enough. Now our Corners and RBs need to stay healthy for once

Someone other then Brady or Manning will win an MVP, seems pretty bold to me lol

Re: Bold predictions thread 2011.

-The Eagles won't win the NFC East, but get a wildcard.

-The Lions will be a sub .500 team, as usual.

-The Colts will finish with the best record in the NFL.

-The Steelers will not make the playoffs.

There's a difference between a PREDICTION and a GUESS.

A guess estimates or supposes something without sufficient information.

In this case we have sufficient information....

We know this eagles team has a track record of producing wins, and that the system and management remains in place to do so. We know that the eagles have likely improved their team 10 fold against the competition. So let's be real....predicting a downfall when there is no historical evidence from this team to support that argument is a guess NOT a prediction.

I think his point still stands, you're taking this WAY too seriously. It's meant to be fun, no need to get hurt if people are using their "Bold Prediction" to say that the Eagles won't make the playoffs/wont win a playoff game. That's why it's bold...because the Eagles made a run last year with a team that wasn't as good as this one, so saying they will miss the playoffs is a bold prediction.

And, truthfully, "prediction" is a better word for this thread. We know about the rosters/players/schedules/divisions, etc, therefore we're not making guesses. We're stating bold predictions based on what we think is going to happen given the factors surrounding the team.

Way too seriously? I was civil in my remarks. I object to your predictions on the merit that by definition they are not predictions. Can I not...?

They're not predictions? Michael Vick has been injured frequently over his career. Were he injured, would the Eagles still be a lock for the playoffs and a long run?

Actually, guessing that Vick will play a full season is much more of a guess than saying he won't.

Did the eagles not make playoff runs with Feely, Detmer, etc?

Re: Bold predictions thread 2011.

Can we get a rename of this thread to "The Philadelphia Eagles Prediction Thread"?

Anyway, my bold predictions:

Denver goes 4-12
Randy Moss stays retired
Houston fails to make the playoffs
Philly doesn't make the Super Bowl
NFC Championship Game: Packers/Falcons
AFC Championship Game: Patriots/Ravens
Jacksonville comes within a game of winning the AFC South
Dallas has one of the worst records in the league
Jets make the playoffs but are bounced in the Wild Card round
Giants fail to make the playoffs
Cam Newton ends up like Ryan Leaf
