thats what they want you to think, i saw an nfl films that showed all the full color high quality stuff they wernt allowed to show when they made the other films. Not all the old stuff is high quality but they have plenty of it from the 60s and 70s that they shot and it looks amazing.

Re: NFL Films Appreciation Thread.

I had a teacher in junior high that would somehow get some very early NFL films on old school movie reels to show to the kids after school...

All you had to do was bring a can or two of food to donate and you were in...

The drama of those productions certainly fueled our collective imaginations and really helped get my friends and I hooked on the sport...

Come to think of it, that was how I saw "Brian's Song" too...

Pretty cool (for school), huh?

Re: NFL Films Appreciation Thread.

I'm sure I'm not alone in saying NFL Films made me appreciate the history of the game. The only thing in any other sport that comes close is the Ken Burns Baseball documentary. I own 11 individual team complete history dvds and want more. I collected all of the Steelers season highlight films from 1967-2000 on tape earlier last decade. If I ever won the lottery one of my dream purchases would be to have all the season highlights from all the teams from the 70s, 80s, and 90s. That's how much I love NFL Films.

Re: NFL Films Appreciation Thread.

NFL Films is perhaps the greatest sports-based companies ever founded. I know that I wouldn't know as much about the NFL if weren't for Sabol's masterpiece. It's gotten to a point where I get goosebumps when I hear any of the songs, and had Magnificent Eleven as a ringtone.

Re: NFL Films Appreciation Thread.

I'm currently in the process of putting all the NFL Films songs on my iPhone. Does anyone have a complete track listing of Autumn Thunder? I have A Chilling Championship, The Magnificent Eleven, Classic Battle, A New Game, Round Up, Up As She Rises, Forearm Shiver, and Ramblin' Man From Gramblin'. I also have the Da Riffs remixes for most of those.
