Re: POLL:Best Defensive Player of all time

LT's the pick for me. Most dominant defensive player I've ever seen.

Re: POLL:Best Defensive Player of all time

I have never seen a single player dominate a game on the defensive side of the ball more than Taylor in his prime.

As far as players I have to go with Taylor. But remember, defense is a team effort.

Re: POLL:Best Defensive Player of all time

It's a toss up between LT and White to me. I think I lean towards LT because he revolutionized his position and the fact that he actually tackled more. One little known stat is that White had more sacks than tackles in his entire career which makes him a little too one dimensional for my tastes.

(still a HOFer just one dimensional one)

Re: POLL:Best Defensive Player of all time

I've never seen any player that was so obviously better than everyone else on the field than LT in his prime. It really was like watching a man among boys at times. Joe Gibbs creating the single back, double or even triple TE set as a base set? Direct response to not being able to block Taylor. So anytime you see an offense come out in that formation, it's because nobody could block Taylor.

Butkus and Taylor were the first two that came to mind, but I went with Deion, because, well, I loved Deion, and was a CB myself.

Re: POLL:Best Defensive Player of all time

There's too many fantastic players on this list. However, I voted for Ronnie Lott as he was a dominating defender, who ended up with 4 Super Bowl rings, what more can I say...

Re: POLL:Best Defensive Player of all time

I chose Singletary over LT simply because I felt he was a more complete and cognitive linebacker. LT tore up linemen and reigned in the sacks, but Singletary was more complete.

This should've been split into "secondary" and "front seven."
