How would the history of Pro Football have changed if...

I know, I know. Another idea someone else came up with. I just figured this thread could be just as entertaining as the college football and needed to be started.

So let's start simple. What is there was never a merger? Not what if it took place later, what if the AFL and NFL never merge? Would the two go on to coexist and be equally popular? Or does one league eventually falter?

What if the Baltimore Colts never traded John Elway? Do the Colts still move to Indianapolis? The Browns wouldn't move to Baltimore so we would never have the Ravens. The city of Cleveland might have one a Superbowl in 2000.

But also, if the Colts never trade Elway, what happens to Manning? Does he go to the Broncos? And perhaps the Browns move, but go instead to Indianapolis? The Indianapolis team then ends up with a top defense year in and year out.

What if Tom Brady gets selected by anyone else? Let's say he goes somewhere with a QB firmly in place, like Green Bay?

Well I'll go with something that has been talked about in recent years and even mentioned in the CFB. What if the Dolphins weren't too overly concerned with the medical problems Drew Brees had and actually signed him.

I'll also throw this in, What If Katrina never hit NO? Do they have a decent year, which then maybe keeps Jim Haslett in NO, keeping Sean Payton/Drew Brees out?

If Brees goes to Miami, that's where his career ends. If Katrina doesn't hit, I still think Haslett is gone, but not sure who comes in to replace him.

What If the Raiders had signed Jeff Garcia and drafted Calvin Johnson instead of going with JaWalrus?
