Here's a gif of the hit. Haven't found one with the full play.

So did he not tear his ACL till the next drive, because he didn't tear it on that hit? Not completely at least.

Unneccesary block but not a dirty one to me.

Although I definitely understand why players want it to be considered an illegal block though.

I don't know to be honest. Don't remember when he came out of the game, that's just the play I've seen people say it happened on, and that's a gif I found on a KC blog talking about his injury.

Video on NFL.com shows when he got hurt. Completely different play on opposite side of the field.

Yeah, I went back and read some KC blogs and I guess he went down after the hit by Johnson, then tried to come back and that play happened. Don't know how true that is as I don't remember it.

Wouldn't surprise me if, as you mentioned, it was partially torn on an early play, then when he tried to make that cut his knee said no mas and that was it.

Here's a better view of Berry on that play.

That second one is a little uncomfortable to watch. I would guess there was some damage done on the block because he wasn't trying to cut that hard on the play above. Leg just completely gave out.

Well that sucks for the Chiefs fans here.

Regarding the block by Stevie Johnson it doesn't look nearly as bad when you watch it in full time as he was clearly going for the knees but I don't think he was planning to hit him square with his helmet but rather with the shoulders. It was a bang-bang kind of hit that would be hard to "avoid the hit". I mean Johnson was obligated to make a block there so he was "damned if you do damned if you don't".

It does look like it took a toll on Berry when you see the actual play he got injured on which I'll agree with spencer is a bit uncomfortable to watch.
