Collins and Dilfer were at times solid... but would you want your team to waste a whole season for the chance to get them? Doubt that.

I personally would also cease to be a fan of a team that were known to be tanking. Plus NFL prospects are so hit or miss anyway.

If he does that, hopefully some SEC QB will make it interesting.

Re: Andrew Luck and fans wanting their teams to tank

I don't know if it's possible for a team to legitimately tank. There's too many players with pride, love for the game, and love for money (better stats = more money) for any team to be able to sabotage themselves.

The only ones who can really attempt to tank a season are the GM/owner and the coaches. But even then, it's just personnel decisions (sitting a QB with no future and playing a young, worse QB, for example). I don't know if a coach would spend a whole week gameplanning and teaching his players knowing he was setting them up for failure.

As a fan it's a way to look on the bright side of a poor season (especially as a Chiefs fan). A lottery isn't going to come about because of a once-every-decade prospect though.
