$37 in total bonuses spread out from 2004-2007. His base salary kept changing because for cap purposes the Falcons would convert the roster bonuses to signing bonuses. However you add it up, it totaled more than $40 in base and bonuses.

Whatever the case, it was a lot of money and when you total the extension with his rookie contract, he made $61,919,330 with the Falcons, not including endorsements.

No matter how you slice the dollars, I'd put Vick in the category of just straight blowing his money. I don't think I put Brunell in the same category.

**** Mark Brunell, and any of these athletes who have done the same thing.

Tell us how you really feel, brah.

Re: Mark Brunell

Wow, he's been lucky enough to make 1 mill+ per season to hold a clipboard for the last 5-6 years and couldn't save enough to actually 'retire.' Even when you don't take into account when he was making starting QB money...that's ridiculous. This year he is still making the $900k vet minimum.

I never invest my money in anything. That is why at age 51 I still have all of it.

That's correct, and just because you go bankrupt doesn't mean you don't have any money.

Re: Mark Brunell is bankrupt

I understand wanting to invest

However there is something called common sense. It is not wise to "invest" what you can't afford to lose

I feel no sympathy for risk takers who lose their money

I don't have a problem with them investing. They probably just want to have something in their name so that their kid's kids won't have to ever work.

Their problem seems to be throwing your money at someone and just walking away believing that they'll have your best interest at heart.

From everything I read, he's not a flashy guy or anything like that.

Just ignorant.
