After watching the bit on NFL Total Access, I didn't realize there was so much in-fighting within the Jaguars organization.

Do you mean JDR throwing everyone under the bus? I didn't see the bit on NFL Total Access, but it's widely known that this season JDR has been throwing everyone under the bus he can.

Re: Jack Del Rio fired.

I don't usually agree with mid-season coaching changes, but I think this had to be done. I surpose it gives them a good chance at weighing up their options before the off-season arrives.

Does Blaine Gabbert stay safe though? We all saw what happened in Carolina, although Gabbert is better than Clausen.

I say yes, considering the GM that drafted him is still in Jacksonville and just signed a 3-year extension.

Marty Hurney drafted Jimmy Clausen, his been there since '02. Although they had a shot at Newton and took it so its a bit different.

New Coach (And possibly coaching staff), New Owner, sometimes sets a franchise up to be turned on its head.

Jags get a shot at Luck and this is a valid comparison (and they'd DEFINITELY take him) but I don't see any other scenario where the two situations are similar.

Re: Jack Del Rio fired.

It's kind of hard to compare Blaine Gabbert with Jimmy Clausen. One guy was selected 10th overall (1st round pick) and the other was a 2nd round 48th pick draft selection. Usually the round selection of a quarterback dictates his future in a franchise. With Gabbert being selected in the 1st round, that should merit at least a two year pass.

Although as mentioned by wwharton, they probably take Andrew Luck if he falls in their lap because he's the most heralded pro-ready quarterback I heard about in years. (But I'm pretty sure the Colts will take him).

I really don't think there's been a team that has drafted 1st round quarterbacks back to back.
