They are selling pieces of paper for $250 and calling it stock when you can't resell it, Packers won't buy it back for $250 and it gives you basically no extra rights for Packers decisions.
Its a brilliant move apparently by the Packers to come up with an easy way to make money for stadium renovations/etc.
"We need $2 million for renovations, lets get people to buy in and give us their money, tell them they "own stock" and it'll be easy money."

I can completely understand Packers' fans paying $250 to renovate Lambeau Field.

And it has sentimental value as well.

If you followed the link, it's explicitly stated that it's not a stock in a traditional sense.

As Tim said, it's a far better way of raising money for stadium renovations than begging the currently broke Wisconsin state government for money and raising taxes on Wisconsin residents who could care less about the Packers.
