Re: Super Bowl XLVI: New England Patriots v. New York Giants

Did anyone else watch the Sound FX super bowl edition? After they called the holding penalty on Booth that set up New England's first TD. The ref and umpire went up to Vince Wilfork to ask him if Booth held him.

Wilfork straight up tells them they made a bad call. The umpire asked him two more times trying to get Wilfork to say he made the right call, he never did. He was steadfast in his belief they botched that call. I found that pretty interesting. Other tidbits:

Brady talking about how the Giant DL is like "Throwing a ball in the forest."

Michael Boley pretty much acknowledging that Gronk was being used as a decoy.

Brady admitting that he did in fact throw the ball away on the safety, he "did't want to throw an interceptions."

The officials getting together and saying that Welkers drop "was the game."

Bilichick telling his defense before the last Giants drive to "make them go to Manningham and Pascoe."

Lots of other good tidbits if you guys get a chance to watch it.

Unfortunately, I think this is how the game will be remembered. And while it certainly would have been better for the Pats if he makes the catch, the game is far from over. The Pats would have had the ball at the 20 with 4 minutes to go. Very possible for the Giants to get a stop there, and hold them to a FG. Which means that Eli still has about 2:30 to drive the field for the game winning TD.

But that is the nature of sports I suppose. I am sure some people think that if Buckner fields the ball and steps on the base, that the Sox win the '86 World Series right there.
