Re: NFL Off Topic

They may, some players have been asked about it and have said discussions are either underway or haven't gotten to a point of making a decision.

One rub is workout bonuses. These workouts are "voluntary" but there are players who have bonuses in their contracts related to participating in them. There may be escalators and other terms in their contracts related to participation in offseason activities as well.

From this guy, who has a lot of good info like the below: https://twitter.com/Jason_OTC
Teams with the most money in workout bonuses

Packers- $5.1M
Jaguars- $3.7M
Bills- $3.2M
Chiefs- $3.1M
Panthers- $1.9M
Bengals- $1.9M
Raiders- $1.8M
Bears- $1.2M
49ers- $1.1M
Patriots- $1M

Teams w/ most players w/ workout bonuses:

Bills- 28
Chiefs- 25
Jaguars- 24
Packers- 19
Dolphins- 13
Bears- 11
Vikings- 11
Patriots- 10
Raiders- 9
Bengals-8
Giants- 8

Wash., Cowboys and Texans have a lot of base salaries tied to workout participation.

I don't see the criminal investigation leading to anything at all. The civil case may be a different matter. If they have direct messages along of him apologizing, along with this admission, I think that is pretty strong.

But I don't think his career is over unless the criminal investigation finds something strong enough to bring to trial.

Re: NFL Off Topic

I expect the civil cases to be settled. This will haunt him forever, but otherwise not affect his career (though if this is why he wasn't pursued more by other teams in a trade, perhaps the damage has already been done). 'He gets 140 massages a year and some of them include consensual sex acts and NDAs' just isn't a rational defense for most people.

Edit: One of the civil suits was dropped today. So perhaps the settlements have already begun.

lol. His NFL career will be fine.

Much like Mr. Kraft's shenanigans, this will blow over.

If he settles, he'll miss some games but yeah it should blow over. If he goes to trial and all this is put on record (with some proof), it's hard to pass this off as a bad decision. It's a pattern and he appears to have gone through everyone in Houston. NFL would probably need to suspend him 1 year but who knows what Goodell will do. They could wait for the trial and that is 1-2 years down the line.
