I really hope Nike really does make some awesome t-shirts, because none of Reebok's are that appealing to me.

Yeah, for this reason, I own way more Phillies apparel than Eagles apparel, even though I'd much rather wear Eagles apparel. It's just the Eagles stuff was never good

Yeah browsing around footballfanatics, the shirts are crap. There isn't one that I would buy. My cart is full of Red Sox apparel, though, because their shirts and shorts are awesome.

Re: NFL Off Topic 2012

I'm going to be watching the play and fan/media reaction to these WRs who are breaking the bank this offseason. I know historically QBs and WRs make the big bucks but I don't think i've seen a situation where a whole bunch of guys are getting paid so much at the same time.

Re: NFL Off Topic 2012

With all these recent signings, I never understood the hubbub of people wondering how much guaranteed money a player would get.

This article points out how guaranteed money really isn't completely guaranteed (kind of ironic).

http://www.ibabuzz.com/oaklandraider...y-pipe-dreams/

Take DeAngelo Hall. He was suppose to get $24.5 million guaranteed money after signing with the Oakland Raiders. But the Raiders were able to cut him 8 games into the season and only paid him $8 million (most of it was from his signing bonus).

That is why I mostly pay attention to the signing bonus because that's the only thing considered fully "guaranteed".

Re: NFL Off Topic 2012

Guaranteed money is typically guaranteed in stages, standard practice. Players all the time try and get bigger contracts that they'll often never see the last year or two of, because of ridiculous figures. Those facetious years help spread out the cap hit created by signing and roster bonuses. It's just part of the business. Capology is an art in some cases.

Nice clarification of what guaranteed money means in the NFL.

Still not a fan of the use of the word and makes me wonder how many NFL fans understand what the term means.

Yeah, Florio has made a point to throw out caveats as fans jump all over the deals being made this offseason. Then the final figures come out, and you see that some of the huge contracts could just be expensive 1-2 year deals. Mario Williams' monster deal could end up just being 2 years for $40m if they wanted to sever ties, ended up in cap hell, or he just wasn't worth the money.
