Eventually, being **** human beings will catch up to the NFL and I cannot wait to watch them burn when it does.

I'm not a fan of the way Kapernick went about some of the things he did. Although I understand the message he was sending.

But this new ruling is absurd. We are forcing people to do this? Or else. That is not freedom.

The NFL is a sorry organization.

Re: NFL Off Topic

Oof, the league has already been put on blast. I was watching a few minutes of NFL-N (BTW kudos to that network for covering the story in as non biased a way as possible considering it's league owned) and the players are roasting the league BIG TIME.

Re: NFL Off Topic

I swear the NFL is just the worst with handling stuff. Everything from domestic violence, to concussions, to deflategate to this. Always making a mountain out of a mole hill. The league is "too big to fail" but eventually all these things will add up. Pre "anthem protest" (which has been so misconstrued, but whatever...) ratings had slipped. At best the league has peaked, at worst it's in decline.

New York Jets co-owner Christopher Johnson will pay any fines his players might be subjected to as part of the NFL's new national anthem policy.

Per Newsday's Bob Glauber, Johnson addressed the situation Wednesday:

"I do not like imposing any club-specific rules. If somebody [on the Jets] takes a knee, that fine will be borne by the organization, by me, not the players. I never want to put restrictions on the speech of our players. Do I prefer that they stand? Of course. But I understand if they felt the need to protest. There are some big, complicated issues that we're all struggling with, and our players are on the front lines. I don't want to come down on them like a ton of bricks, and I won't. There will be no club fines or suspensions or any sort of repercussions. If the team gets fined, that’s just something I'll have to bear."

Re: NFL Off Topic

Gonna go get a Jets shirt if this really happens. Been needing a reason to get some Green Js.

Man, why does it have to be an AFC East rival that has a sensible approach to this?!
