I know I said the Raiders shouldn't bring in TO or Ocho earlier, but I wouldn't mind bringing in Plaxico as a red zone specialist. The guy showed last year that he still can play, moreso than Ocho and TO have recently, and isn't half the distraction that those guys are in the locker room/media. Especially if our young receivers keep getting hurt/dropping catchable balls.

There's a reason he's not on a roster anymore. He simply can't run anymore. Not at the level needed to play at the NFL. He'd strictly be a redzone guy. Can the Raiders or really any team afford to use one of their 53 on a one dimensional guy like that? I would venture to say no.

Stop.
Good win. Liked the mistake free game from Phil. D played very good. I like the depth we have up front. Bring on the Titans.

And yes, every Charger thread does end like this. We like to end up fighting with each other. It's tradition. lol

If I was a team trying to win ' right now ' i'd take a chance on him. He has the experience. If that is the case then why are players like Ray Lewis still starting if hes a few stops behind now ? Give people a chance all I'm saying lol.

Apples & Oranges between Ray Lewis & him.

Ray also plays middle linebacker, London Fletcher as well. The theme is great players at the MLB position seem to play way later into their careers. Mike Singletary, Sam Mills, Jr. Seau, etc.

Re: Week 1: San Diego Chargers @ Oakland Raiders (Monday Night Football)

Ford going down for a good period of time leaves us even thinner at WR. I know it's not a direct comparison, and it's a different regime now, but we wasted a roster spot on TJ Houshmandzadeh last year and he was a lot more past his prime and had shown a lot less in 2010 than Plax did last year.

I'd look at Plax essentially as a red zone/short yardage back as far as being a situational guy. Plus, 53 isn't exactly 15 (NBA) or 25 (MLB). If teams want to make space and need to make space, they usually can easily. At worst we get rid of Hagan, who does seem to know the system but doesn't seem to have as much upside as a Plax could.

53 is a very tight number. Especially when you only dress 46 for games.

Tough to justify a roster spot on a guy that might only be on the field for 3 or 4 offensive plays and can't contribute on special teams?

Plax was awful last year. Guy just can't run or seperate last year. If he could still play he'd be on a roster right now. I am not sure what upside you're seeing in Plax.
