Based on their on-field talent and great play last year, they still should be regarded as one of the best defenses in the NFL.

I'm going by the talent I see on the field, not necessarily the stats, because they can be extremely skewed by the teams you've played in a small sample size, such as 3 games. Those are the 3 best defenses I've seen this year.
If you're going by talent you see on the field and "not necessarily the stats", then yeah, it doesn't matter that Miami and Jacksonville were Houston opponents thus far.

It doesn't matter to me, that's why I still ranked them 3rd. Others do rank teams solely on stats, that's why I mentioned that's not the way I look at it.

Take away the Packer game (in which they still played well) and they've scored almost as many points as they've allowed. Honorable mention to the niners, texans though.
