Yeah I doubt we get more than 200 yards of offense. Every single aspect of the offense has **** the bed and they need to show me something otherwise.

Yeah, Sherm's a lot of fun. He's smart, lucid, well-spoken, a real character, team-first guy. He's a talker for sure, but he's got the goods to back up his mouth, he's not some arrogant punk that just talks a mess and can't deliver.

I hope 'Optimus Prime' sticks after this weekend.

Man, it's FUN having a great defense that you feel good going up against absolutely any team. It's an unusual sensation for us longtime Seattle fans lol. I'm not sure we ever had this high-rated of a defense, or pound for pound, position to position quality players before. The 2005 defense was good, but they were built to play with a lead because our offense was on fire that year.

I think it's funny that Sherman did that, but don't people already call Charles Tillman Optimus Prime?

Tillman was last week, and Grimes was last year.

At some point, someone will just call themselves Rodimus.

Re: Week 8: Seattle Seahawks (4-3) @ Detroit Lions (2-4)

And here's the potential downside to Sherman's stuff (which I don't have a problem with):

Quote:
Dave Birkett ‏@davebirkett
Calvin Johnson on Richard Sherman changing Twitter name to Optimus Prime: "I can use it, definitely use it as motivation, no doubt about it"

Dave Birkett ‏@davebirkett
Lions C Dominic Raiola was more animated: "That's how he is on the field. ... Whatever. (Bleep) him."

Dave Birkett ‏@davebirkett
More Dom on Sherman: "He took a shot at Brady, 1 of the best QBs to ever play. Take a shot at coaches. Whatever. ...

Dave Birkett ‏@davebirkett
"That’s disrespectful to this game but maybe he doesn’t have a lot of respect, who knows?"

Dave Birkett ‏@davebirkett
More Raiola on Sherman: "That's kind of WWE-ish to me. Still got to play the game."

Dave Birkett ‏@davebirkett
Last one from Raiola on Sherman: "I think for a guy like (Calvin), if anything you’d wake him up. You’d wake a monster up."
Again, I don't really have a problem at all with what Sherman does. He actually backs up his talk and is playing like a top 3/top 5 corner this year. This arrogance/confidence/cockiness is his personality and is part of what makes him so good. All that said, I'm REALLY looking forward to seeing the matchup between Calvin Johnson and Richard Sherman this weekend.

Good grief. That's a lot of backlash over changing your twitter handle and not even directly smack-talking, but like he said...whatever.

If this stuff is what fuels Sherm's engine and raises his play, I'm good with it. It's a far cry from the 'soft' image we carried for years.
