Re: MVP Discussion Thread

I'm rooting for AP .

But I'm almost certain AP wins the OPOY and p.Manning wins the MVP again.

Re: MVP Discussion Thread

If Peterson breaks Dickerson's record, coming 1 year after ACL surgery, I'd be very hard pressed to NOT give the MVP to him.

How I feel if he doesn't win doing that just rename the MVP to QBMVP award .

Re: MVP Discussion Thread

The interesting thing is Peyton has the whole comeback story behind him as well. It might be even more compelling for him considering a lot of people thought he wouldn't play again and several doctors said he shouldn't play again. He's also had his best statistical year since probably the 49 TD year. At the age of 36 and with a brand new team.

I don't know. I'm obviously a little biased. Either way I'm just happy both AP and Peyton came back the way they did this year. It's been fun to watch.

Yes. The award is decided by a panel of 50 voters if multiple players end up tied for first they share the award. The last time this happened was after the 2005 season when Steve Smith of the Panthers and Tedy Bruschi of the Patriots tied for first.

If there can be Co-MVPs then I'm sure the Comeback Player of the Year can be shared as well, and at this point I see no reason why it shouldn't be given to both Peyton and Adrian.

As for the MVP, it's Peyton's IMO. The only way that changes is if the Broncos completely fall off these final few games (unlikely) or if Adrian breaks the rushing record.

Both Peyton and Adrian's stories are incredible, but you have to factor in that Peyton went to a completely different team after being with one organization for the past 10+ years, and being the QB had to master a new playbook, build a connection with a new offensive line and a new set of receivers, and adapt to a new home, which also happens to be an outdoor stadium in a cold-weather city as opposed to the dome he was playing in his entire career.

I don't mean to downplay what AP has done coming off his injury but I think you have to give the edge to Peyton for MVP right now.
