My issue with it has nothing to do with me being worried about hurt feelings.

To me it's about respect for your opponent.

I'm not even suggesting pump the brakes, I'm not someone who takes any issue with a team still passing at an end of the game when up big (stupid, but not disrespectful).

Running a fake punt in that situation is just like rubbing it in too much and doesn't belong and it has nothing to do with hurt feelings.
