That would take you from 14 teams to 8 after the first weekend.

With that stated, the last thing I'd like to see is the advantage of the top 2 teams getting the bye eliminated........ hopefully this doesn't go through.

Yuck, the massive amount of playoff teams in the NBA and NHL suck, that's not something the NFL should be emulating.

This new system would reward mediocre teams while punishing elite teams. The current system is great and increasing it to 16 teams pretty much guarantees that 8-8 and 7-9 teams will be limping into the playoffs every year. This would also punish the top teams in each conference by removing the bye weeks.

I hate this idea. If it gets to 16 teams that just cheapens the regular season. Personally I hate wildcards being in the playoffs. I have always belived if you cant win your divsion you dont deserve a shot at the title. I am that way for all sports.

Playoffs are fine as is. No need to add more.

Is Goodell bored or something? I mean a 16 Team Playoffs? What idiot put that idea into his head to make it think it would be a good idea?(Outside of the obvious Dollar Signs)

Wouldn't be too upset with 14. Wouldn't be too upset if a 7-9 team won the Super Bowl either. I don't think the last couple Super Bowl winners are complaining about getting into the play offs as wild card teams and then winning it all.

If you go 7-9 in the regular season, then beat 4 of the top teams in a row, you deserve it.
