Re: Ray Lewis to Retire After Season

Am I going to be the one that has to mention the murder investigation?

I would have beat you to it, but I've been away for the past two days. While I can't deny Lewis is a great player, I never liked the guy and I for one have been waiting for this day. I'm glad he's retiring. My Sundays watching football will be much better next season.

Who the hell are you two to forever condemn that man? No one in here even spoke to his personal life. Only that as a athlete and analyst.

Re: Ray Lewis to Retire After Season

You can mention the "Murder Investigation", but most of us know how to separate personal life from football.

Definitely sad to see him retire. I expected two more years from him, but this injury seemed to put his life in perspective. I agree with most, I'd like to see him on the NFL Network because those guys show a lot of personality.. and Ray has a lot of that.

Murder Investigation...he went through the process. He was innocent of murder. What's the issue?

He never got charged with murder because he took a plea bargain and plead guilty to other lesser charges simply because he was willing to testify for the prosecution.

If you're going to mention it, maybe you should read up on it so YOU actually know what happened. He was picked up because of his name and some slimy police work tried to bully him into turning in the murderers in because they figured Lewis had too much to lose not to fold. The result of this brilliant tactic has the murderers still running free btw.

Lewis was charged with obstruction of justice for not becoming an informant with information he may or may not have known. If you think he knew where the guys were, then hate him for that. But the only people that actually think he murdered anyone want to hang onto a reason to hate him or read the big headline and just ran with it.

Either way, if you have any idea what the man has done with his career and life since then, and his impact on people in the community, around the country, on his team, around the league, etc. you should wish to be half the man he is... hate him or not.
