In reply to:

The reason why the steelers have the logo on one side is because when the franchise started the steel company asked hom much patches they needed on there leather helmets and the Steelers said 60 the amount of players on the football team so instead of 120 for both sides they told the steel company to send them 60.

I heard somewhere that the team didn't have enough money to buy 120 patches so they got one for each player...pretty much what you said.

Lord Vader,

Your post was hilarious... perfect reading for a friday afternoon. I very much agree with you on the bucs... their uniforms are the most improved by far. Those old buc uniforms were just so lame ... the color ... the goofy pirate .. ick.

Also you are spot on about the lions. I was just playing a game as them on 2k3 the other day and i couldn't take it .... powder blue and football simply don't belong together.

Peace

Re: Top 10 and bottom 5 NFL uniforms

This a topic that i have grown to love over the years... uniform talk is one of my friend's and me's favorate subjects.

Top 10; no order
Dallas (i might be biased but there is just something about that star)
Tampa Bay (that old buc looked like a wus)
Seattle (new colors look really sweet)
Washington (not biased but the maroon and yellow are nice)
Pittsburgh (the old school style as loveable as the cowboys)
Miami (the jersey updates look great with the fish and sun helmet)
NY Jets (one of the first to go with a good retro look)
Oakland (the silver and black are about as classy as you can make an organization with no class look)
Green Bay (should and will never change)
Chicago (see GB)

Re: Top 10 and bottom 5 NFL uniforms

Am I the only one who thinks the old Chargers uniforms are SUPERtacky! They look so bad and out of date, they look good to some of you. Powder blue on yellow with WHITE helmets. YUCK!!! Never bring those jerseys back!

The Titans jerseys are cool IF they put white on white. The white jerseys on white pants with white helmets would look sweet!

Holy Dallas-homer batman....
The Lions uni's look like wannabe Cowboys? Which school of NFL history did you attend? The Lions have been around a hell of a lot longer than the Cowboys with basically the same uniforms forever.

My top 5:
1) Jets
2) Raiders
3) Giants
4) Browns
5) I'm not sure anybody really deserves this spot - the Chiefs, Broncos, Seahawks, Cowboys, Bucs, Packers all look "ok" but nothing spectacular.
There's definitely more bad uniforms in the league than good ones - the worst being the Cardinals by far.

I don't know...the Cardinals aren't THAT bad...there are much worse out there (I still get a kick out the the Bengals/77 Camero comment)

Oh, you reminded me of one I forgot. I really like the retro Jets uniforms. But I HATE the retro Giants ones.

lord vader wins a cookie, and the award for "Most Arrogant Post of the Year" IMHO.

Though it was rather entertaining reading
