Re: Best Browns QB since 1999

Pretty soon, 6 degrees of Derek Anderson will be a thing.

Also, my opinion? It's either Couch or Holcomb.

Couch was undoubtedly the most talented, but concussions and sheer lack of talent had him out of the league too soon. He should have been very good, but the Browns didn't support him enough.

Holcomb was a gutsy player, but he made the most out of his arm and his teammates. When Couch got hurt, he helped lead the team into the playoffs and should have beaten Pittsburgh if Dennis Northcutt wasn't a douchecanoe.

Derek Anderson was good, I guess, but his 2007 season was aided because of the Cincy game. Ironically, his demise was also a Cincy game in 2007 when he destroyed all the hard work the Browns put in and it was downhill from there.

But really, since 2007, it's easily been the worst situation in all of sports. Not one starter since then has been viable, even as a backup. Colt is the only one that I know of who can barely hang on as a backup, and even then he almost got cut.

It's funny, cuz, holy **** Luke McCown and freaking Delhomme are on the list before Holcomb.

Bills QBs since Kelly

Todd Collins
Alex Van Pelt
Doug Flutie
Rob Johnson
Drew Bledsoe
JP Losman
Kelly Holcomb
Trent Edwards
Ryan Fitzpatrick
Brian Brohm

I still think the Bills made a bad mistake going with Rob Johnson in the Music City Miracle Game but whatever.

And this is why there is a premium on QBs.

Dallas went through it, too.

Basically.

In 1999, the Browns took Tim Couch #1 overall. A year earlier, the Colts took Peyton Manning #1 overall.

There's the 2000s for you for both teams.

Re: Best Browns QB since 1999

The last time the Lions had a probowler at QB, was Greg Landry in 1971. Since then, it's been pretty horrible; probably not as bad as the Browns but pretty horrible.

Best Browns QB in that era is probably Tim Couch.

Jim Harbaugh
Peter Tom Willis
Will Furrer
Steve Walsh
Erik Kramer
Dave Krieg
Rick Mirer
Steve Stenstrom
Moses Moreno (who the hell?!?)
Shane Mathews
Cade McNown
Jim Miller
Chris Chandler
Henry Burris
Kordell Stewart
Rex Grossman
Craig Krenzel
Chad Hutchinson
Jonathon Quinn
Kyle Orton
Brian Griese

That's a LOOONG list and only slightly better than what the Browns have endured.
Um excuse me?
He started for the Chargers at one point too.

How dare you insult him

Funny how this is one of the few cases where pro bowlers actually matter...

Getting to play quarterback in the NFL but having to do it for the Cleveland Browns is like getting a coupon for a free pizza but it's only for a small with no toppings and they skimped on the cheese.

Spoiler
