Well the next time a receiver on your team is held on the other side of the field and it had no impact on the play, let's not call it either. It's obvious the guy getting pushed wasn't really expecting it as the way I've usually seen it is the guy in front uses the push to jump and try and make the block.

Crappy way to lose a game. It's okay, tho. Red Sox are going to the World Series and the Patriots will still win the division and head to the playoffs.

Jets are an improved team. Give their fans hope each week.

- If it had zero impact on the play, why did the player even do it in the first place?

This is in no way on the refs... Worst penalty you can commit is on a hail mary or a 50+ FG.

What? If a receiver is being held, that impacts the play because you can't throw it to him...

Not to mention it didn't even really look like 94 was pushing anyone. It looked like he was just trying to come off of his teammate to find a hole to get through. And on top of that, how is it okay to push the pile on a running play but isn't okay on a field goal?

Let them decide that on the field.
I've never understood this logic.

Penalties are penalties. You don't refuse to call penalties just because they might influence a high leverage situation.

Rinse, repeat.

Or not.

They ran the ball the entire drive though, that was why they even got near field goal range. Wasn't like Geno led them down the field and then they got conservative.

How does New England still winning the division and making the playoffs when the Jets will be sitting at home have nothing to do with the thread?
