We need to sticky a "help me pick a team" thread. We get these every couple months.

You can't change your team.

You can't make yourself a fan of another team, you really don't get to pick the team you root for.
It comes from the inside (lol).

Suck it up, better days will come.

How could you possibly stop rooting for a team you've followed for 30 years?

I'm too emotionally invested in the teams I root for. Would never be able to turn shut it off then turn around and put 100% of that into a new team.

Re: Your thoughts on picking a new nfl team?

Keep your team, just go along with the jokes made with them and stop investing in any hope, greet any success with pessimism and scepticism, and eventually it will work out.

At least that's how I've approached being a Chiefs fan the better part of a decade. I've never seen them win a playoff game since I became a fan in the 90s. It's been 19 seasons since that last happened with 6 playoff berths since. Only the Lions and Bengals have a longer drought, at 21 and 22 seasons.

My only consolation is watching the Raiders fumble away their hopes every year since being blown out in the Super Bowl.

Keep your team, temper your expectations, roll with the punches.

They're 5-7, one game out of the Wild Card. A quick look at the schedules, and that last game @Miami might very well be for a playoff spot.

And this is all with Gino Smith struggling mightily the past four weeks when they've been 1-3.

The NFL is a grind, gotta tough it out. If Smith can play even just average they have a chance.
