Yea, I'm not sure where that thought comes from.

Even this year, with the way the AFC has gone, there wouldn't be a sub .500 wildcard team.

And how many other sub 500 teams made the playoffs throughout the years?

Just clarifying. Calm down.

Okay, cool. I'm calm. Just clarifying it doesn't happen often.

Adding more games to the playoffs can only increase the chances of it happening.

Winning the division is different than winning the wild card.

No matter how many teams are in the playoffs whether it's 4 or 12, if a division is won with a sub .500 record they are going to be in the playoffs.

That has nothing to do with the wildcard teams making the playoffs.

I guess you're right. Though I am more for the "if it ain't broke, don't fix it". I can see why the NFL would want it. I am in favor though of the higher record hosting the playoff games instead of divisional winners.

I don't want it either, just commenting on why the logic that it will produce sub .500 teams on a somewhat regular basis is false.
