This is where stats don't tell the whole story. The oline is significantly different than the line that allowed those sacks. Not to mention the weapons in place with Marshall, Jeffrey, Forte, both Bennetts and if Brandon Marshall is right in his evaluation, Marquess Wilson is going to be a good/great receiver as well.

Yeah, unless this year was a fluke, the constant QB pressure seems to be a thing of the past. The offense as a whole was 10x better this year. Not great, but undeniably a huge step up. Good move maintaining that by resigning the QB.

Re: 2014 Transactions Thread

So the bears are as dumb as I thought. I wonder how they plan on fixing the rest of their team now.

Re: 2014 Transactions Thread

It's tough, you look at teams this year without marquee quarterbacks and you see a lot of teams with piled up losses and a lot of fired coaches.

This really falls on Bears management because they should have had more options than this. They should have had a young QB who was being groomed over the last 2-3 years for when Cutler's contract expired. Had they done that, this team would have two options: McCown & young QB going into next season. Now, they're stuck with Cutler for better or worse. Like Romo, that is a lot of money being tied up to a guy who hasn't proven he can win anything important.

I'm even more interested in seeing how the Ravens improve their team this offseason.

More Cutler news:

Quote:
Ian Rapoport @RapSheet #Bears QB Jay Cutler’s contract: 7 years, $126 million with $54M guaranteed.
I'd be shocked if he plays the entire contract or if he even makes it to year 4-5.

Re: 2014 Transactions Thread

If Tampa actually cuts Revis like some people seem to think they will, I think all of the joy I got out of hearing that we hired Lovie will be gone, and then some.

Re: 2014 Transactions Thread

I thought they could find a franchise QB in this years draft

I mean I like Cutler but 7yrs/$126mil with $54mil Guaranteed I don't think I agree with that
