So Chad Johnson played tonight and only caught one pass for 13 yards. It wasn't all his fault though as starting QB Troy Smith was pretty much ineffective tonight. On the flip side Cris Carter's kid caught 4 passes for 44 yards including a great sequence where Smith was being chased way behind the LOS and was able to escape and throw for the 1st down to him.

Vince Neal trying to bring the AFL back to Vegas and has gotten approval from the AFL to build a team from scratch. He intends to call them the Las Vegas Outlaws... the moniker used by the XFL franchise.

I'd like to see Troy Smith have some success up there. How long has he been in the CFL?

He's been in Canada for a little less than a season. He pretty much has the starting job after showing some success and promise down the stretch last season. his completion % could be higher but he's done a lot of good things with his mobility which has extended the play quite a bit. I'd also love to see him have success up here and I think he can do it if he can be a little more consistent getting the ball to his receivers.

He signed with the Alouettes, right? I recall that the team hasn't been as good after their coach left for the Bears.

Yep, they made a mistake by hiring a former college coach who had NO Canadian football experience and brought in guys that also didn't have much experience. They should be a LOT better this year at least coaching wise as they hired Tom Higgins who has tons of experience, won a Grey Cup and spent the last 6 years working for the league's officiating/review office.
